Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut
Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey

Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-LANDRUT as the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey was born on 9 July 1960, in Dusseldorf, Germany. He had degree of Magister of History and German Philology from University Cologne, Germany (1981-1987).

He worked as he was the head of the EU Policy Division at the Federal Foreign Office and responsible for EU Coordination within the German Government (1 September 2003 – 30 April 2006). He was the Deputy Director General for European Affairs and the Federal Chancellery and Deputy EU Adviser (1 September 2003 – 30 April 2006). After that, he served as the Director General for European Affairs at the Federal Chancellery and the Chief EU Adviser of Chancellor Merkel between 1 February 2011 and 1 July 2015. He worked as German Ambassador to France and Monaco and the head of the German Embassy. Lastly, he was appointed as the Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey on 1 September 2020.
